Biography

Dr. Mark Schaeffer graduated with a BBA in Marketing from University of Georgia in 2006. He attended Southern College of Optometry where he earned a doctorate of optometry in 2011. He completed a residency specializing in Ocular Disease from Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. After moving back to Birmingham, he worked at Schaeffer Eye Center from 2012 - 2017 when it was purchased by MyEyeDr.

Dr. Schaeffer practices full scope optometry with emphasis on primary eye care, contact lenses and specialty contact lenses, and ocular disease (glaucoma, diabetes, ocular surface disease, and uveitis). He lectures around the country on these topics in promotional content as well as personally created educational content.
